South Florida has a history of drugs washing up on beach shores or drifting in waters, especially in the Florida Keys. This recent find had a whopping price tag, according to WKMG.
On March 3, a snorkeler spotted the bale of drugs floating in waters off Craig Key, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office. The bale reportedly contained 25 bricks of cocaine inside a black bag wrapped in tape.
Deputies said the haul was 68 pounds total and valued at over $1.5 million. Authorities said they turned the drugs over to the U.S. Border Patrol. They also didn't offer any details on where the drugs could've come from.
