Some Las Vegas apartment tenants have been left frustrated as they've gone weeks without a staircase, reported News 3 LV.

Because the staircase is gone, some of the tenants are unable to access their homes on the second floor. In addition, those on the first floor are worried about their safety.

Back in February, some tenants were woken up when someone crashed into a first floor apartment.

One tenant, Gonzalo de la Cruz, said, "I guess they were going too fast trying to turn here, hopped over the sidewalk, and hit the stairs."

The staircase is still missing.

De la Cruz said, "That thing, I don't know if it's really safe. I don't know if it could fall any time."

There is currently a wooden plank holding up the second-floor, which is causing tons of concern.

Some people have taken videos of tenants trying to climb a ladder to access the second floor.

The city found about about the ladder usage on the 23rd of February, over a week after the crash, and put a stop to it.

According to the residents, the owner boarded up the second floor apartments.

Resident David Goissaid said that a community members helped him pay for a hotel room for two weeks for him and his family, but the third week is up to him, which he can't afford.

News 3 reached out to the apartment owner. The owner told them that tenants should reach out to the building manage for housing solutions, and that replacing the staircase is taking longer than expected due to structural plans that need to have permits from the city.
