Bruno Mars wanted in on Music’s Biggest Night and the Recording Academy fulfilled his wish.

On Sunday (March 7), the pop star took to Twitter to plead with the Grammys to let Silk Sonic, his new duo with Anderson .Paak, perform at the upcoming ceremony and his request was met. On Tuesday, Mars shared a graphic with his social media following, announcing a number at the Trevor Noah-hosted ceremony. "We just released a song and could really use the promotion right now. We have a lot riding on this record (and the Pelicans game next week, but that's another story),” he wrote in an open letter.

Mars went on to declare that Silk Sonic would follow all COVID-19 protocol and tossed in a joked about the pair's willingness to send in an audition tape and take as many coronavirus tests as they need to. "I promise we won't be extra. We just really want a gig again. I hope you'll consider this request and give us the opportunity to shine," he concluded, adding, "Love, Silk Sonic."

It's bound to be a packed evening for the Grammys as Silk Sonic joins the likes of Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Cardi B, Bad Bunny, Black Pumas, Brandi Carlile, DaBaby, Doja Cat, Mickey Guyton, Haim and more for musical numbers. The 63rd annual Grammy Awards will air live on Sunday at 8 PM ET on CBS.
