Utah Is One Of The Best States To Live In; See How Well It Ranked

Utah is full of opportunities and boasts a great local economy, sending it to the top of the list of best states to live in.

U.S. News and World Report released its annual "Best States" rankings, listing the states in order from best state to live in to the worst.

Utah found itself at the top of the list, coming in at number three.

The state ranked 1st overall in the 'economy' category, and 5th overall in both the 'fiscal stability' and 'infrastructure' categories. Utah was 10th overall in the 'education' category.

The worst rankings for the state were in the 'natural environment' and 'opportunity' categories, coming in at number 47 and 30, respectively.

According to the study, here are the top 10 worst states to live in:

  1. Kentucky
  2. South Carolina
  3. Oklahoma
  4. Arkansas
  5. Alaska
  6. Alabama
  7. West Virginia
  8. New Mexico
  9. Mississippi
  10. Louisiana

The states were ranked by weighing each of the eight categories on the average of three years of data from an annual national survey that asked nearly 70,000 people to prioritize each subject in their state. The eight categories were: health care, education, economy, infrastructure, opportunity, fiscal stability, crime and corrections, and natural environment.
