Saweetie Confirms Breakup With Quavo: 'I've Endured Too Much Betrayal'

It's official: Saweetie and Quavo are no longer together. The couple sparked breakup rumors earlier this week after it came to light that the two had unfollowed each other on Instagram, but Saweetie has confirmed the news in a pair of tweets.

On Twitter, Saweetie stated that she was single, and hinted that Quavo had betrayed her and been unfaithful. She shared, "I'm single. I’ve endured too much betrayal and hurt behind the scenes for a false narrative to be circulating that degrades my character. Presents don’t band aid scars and the love isn’t real when the intimacy is given to other women."

But, the rapper also added that she's moving on and is excited for the future, writing, "I emotionally checked out a long time ago and have walked away with a deep sense of peace and freedom. Excited for this new chapter of elevation."

Saweetie and Quavo have been together for two years, and the Migos rapper actually shared a screenshot of how he slid into her DMs on Instagram in March 2018. He sent her a snowflake emoji to which she responded with the bowl of noodles emoji (a cute nod to Migos' 2018 hit "Stir Fy"). Quavo then told her "u so icy ima glacier boy," and Saweetie responded back, "was hannin then."

And in a 2020 GQ article, titled "Quavo and Saweetie's Love Language," Quavo recalled of how Saweetie caught his eye, "I seen her on my Explore page. I was like, ‘Damn! Who is this?’ So I did my research and I DM her. I was like, ‘How she going to call herself icy and she don't talk to me?' So I slid in her DM. I told her, ‘You an icy girl, you need a glacier boy.'"
