Want free popcorn?

Moviegoers can get a free 44-ounce popcorn at Cleveland Cinemas this spring.

All it takes is the purchase of a movie ticket, and showing a valid COVID-19 vaccination card.

The offer is valid at Cedar Lee Theatre and Chagrin Cinemas through April 30, according to Cleveland Cinemas.

It starts this Friday (March 26), cleveland.com reported Monday (March 22). The publication added that the company’s two other locations remain closed: Capitol Theatre and Apollo Theatre. Cleveland Cinemas also offers online movie streaming in its virtual screening room, cleveland.com added.

The offer comes as Ohio strives to meet a benchmark set by state officials earlier this month, signaling the end of all health orders.

“When Ohio gets down to 50 cases per 100,000 people for two weeks, all health orders will come off,” Gov. Mike DeWine said in a tweet. “Cases per 100,000 people for a two-week period is a standard measure we have used since early in the pandemic.”

“The end of our fight is now in view, but we must continue pressing forward in these final days,” he added. “We must not relent.”

The Ohio Department of Health has reported more than 1 million total cases statewide as of Monday, the latest data available Tuesday morning (March 23).
