Larger in-person events are slowly starting to make a comeback in Denver and across the state.

As we approach summer, recent changes to the state's COVID-19 dial, lower case and hospitalization rates, and increasing vaccination rates are making it possible for event planners to be optimistic for festival season.

Many organizers are planning on holding in-person outdoor festivals this summer, reports CBS4.

Although dates and specifics are likely to change over the next few months, you can start adding these events to your calendar:

  • PrideFest 2021 - June 26 & 27
    • The Center on Colfax, the largest LGBTQ community center in the Rocky Mountain region, is aiming to host an in-person event this summer. They announced they will move the celebration to the last week in June and will also collaborate with the Juneteenth Music Festival. Read the announcement here.
  • Day of Rock - August
    • Denver's one-day music festival benefits Amp the Cause, a non-profit aimed at improving the livelihood of children in Colorado. The free event features five stages along Denver's 16th Street Mall. Keep any eye out for the lineup announcement here.
  • Colorado State Fair (Pueblo) - August 27 to September 6
    • Colorado's annual fair in Pueblo will take place again this summer with free attractions, carnival rides, and entertainment. You can buy tickets to shows and the rodeo here.
  • Cherry Creek Arts Festival - September 4, 5, & 6
    • Usually a 4th of July tradition, the festival is moving to Labor Day weekend this year. To give vendors and guests more space to socially distance, they will also be moving the festival to the south side of the Cherry Creek Shopping Center. Find more information here.
  • A Taste of Colorado - September 4, 5, & 6
    • Another way to spend your Labor Day weekend in Colorado. Stay tuned as the city prepares to reveal the "brand new format" here.
