'Star Wars' Street Performer Suspected Of New Orleans Stabbing

New Orleans Police are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with a stabbing in the French Quarter over the weekend. The person they believe is responsible for the violent crime was seen dressed as a beloved character from the Star Wars franchise, Fox 8 reports.
According to the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD), a stabbing occurred on Saturday (April 24) in the 700 block of Toulouse Street. The incident started as a verbal altercation but quickly grew violent, with a person police believe is a street performer allegedly stabbing someone with a knife.
The suspect in the stabbing was wearing a Chewbacca costume and had a mask over his entire head. According to Fox 8, a witness told police that the suspect's mask slipped off, revealing who they described as a black male in his 20s. The suspect is currently unknown.

As of Monday (April 26), no other information, including the identity of the victim or their current condition, has been released.
