The Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency (SHRA) is accepting applications again for its rental assistance program, reports ABC10.
The Sacramento Emergency Rental Assitance Program (SERA2) is meant to help low-income renters in the city and county who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic to catch up on past-due rent and utility payments.
“This is exactly the same [as it was for applicants in February]. All we’re doing is we’re trying to open up the application process and continue to get applications while we are processing the applications from February and March,” Deputy Executive Director at SHRA Sarah O’Daniel told CBS13.
The application period started on Tuesday, May 11 and eligible residents can get assistance on prospective rent for the months of April, May, and June 2021.
“The good news is there is no deadline right now. It is going to be continuously open so that we can get as many applications as possible. So people do not have to rush and try and stay up late and apply at 12:01 a.m. They can apply anytime,” said O'Daniel.
Landlords can also apply for assistance on behalf of their tenants.
