Denver Mayor Michael Hancock held a news conference on Friday afternoon (May 14) with members of the live events industry to give details on the return of live music events and concerts in the city, reports 9NEWS.

"After a year of challenges, Denver’s arts organizations are once again open for business, and they’re ready to welcome people back," said Hancock.

With Denver making the move into "Level Clear" on Sunday, May 16, the new COVID-19 restrictions allow businesses to reopen at 100% capacity.

Some of the live music events that will kick of the summer are happening outdoors.

Free concerts will take place at the 16th Street Mall throughout the summer.

A Taste of Colorado will take place in various parts of downtown. The food, drinks, art, and music festival is scheduled to take place from September 4-6, 2021.

“What will happen across Denver over the next few months is extraordinary — a coordinated effort to bring people outside and celebrate an All-Star Summer in Colorado,” Mayor Michael Hancock’s office wrote on Facebook.

The slew of free performances and cultural events is part of a marketing campaign called "Denver All-Star Summer" aimed at encouraging metro-area residents back to Downtown after a year of stricter pandemic guidelines.

The name comes from the MLB All-Star game coming to Coors Field on July 13.
