Road rage led to a shooting in Ohio on Wednesday afternoon (June 2).

The alleged shooter was reportedly angry at a mailman on the east side of Cleveland and fired shots at him.

Cleveland police say Luthor Pettit Jr., the U.S. Postal carrier, reported that another driver insisted that Pettit hit his side mirror. That’s when the driver approached the mail carrier, fired twice into his arm and fled the scene in a beige or gray Hyundai, 19 News reports.

“Postal Inspectors continue to monitor the situation very closely, as the Postal Inspection Service takes the security and well-being of postal service employees very seriously and remains focused on the needs and safety of its employees,” the U.S. Postal Inspection Service said in a statement.

Pettit, a mailman for 36 years, will fully recover. He was transported to University Hospitals after witnesses called EMS.

Anyone with information about the suspect should call the Cleveland Division of Police or the U.S. Postal Inspection Service: 877-876-2455.
