Lil Durk's Brother Dthang Shot Dead: Report

Lil Durk’s older brother, Dthang, was reportedly shot and killed over the weekend.

Chicago Media Takeout was one of the first outlets to break the report on Instagram late last night (June 6). “Lil Durk’s brother has been killed,” wrote the outlet, which boasts 152,000 followers on the platform.

“Chicago 💔 @money_making_dthang,” the post added. “When is it going to stop? Durk, you’re in our prayers 🙏 @lildurk . Most importantly praying for his kids.”

Details are sparse right now, but Chicago Media Takeout seems to suggest Dthang was the “person who got shot outside of Club O.”

Other outlets like SOHH posted a screenshot of Chi-Town native rapper 147 Calboy breaking the devastating news on Twitter around the same time, writing, “R.I.P Dthang it’s was always love when ya saw me.” (My Mixtapez and RapTV have also shared similar reports.)

At the time of this writing, Durk has not spoken about his brother's alleged killing.

According to Meaww, Durk and Dthang were most recently spotted together at music mogul Pierre Thomas’ birthday party in Atlanta, Georgia.

Dthang, whose real name was Dontay Banks, Jr., was also a musician in his lifetime.

Considering Durk has lost so many close ones throughout his life, including fellow rapper and friend King Von in November 2020, fans have been reeling over his brother’s alleged killing.

“I hope Durk gets some help physiological help if needed cause he losing people left and right this not supposed to be normal,” one user tweeted, while another wrote, “Idk how Durk still standing from a mental perspective. This is unreal smh.”

Someone else added, “Damn, Durk can’t catch a break Crying face I feel bad for him.”
