A Texas man's crime spree came to a not-so-sweet end when police caught up to the doughnut truck he stole.
Carlos Emmanuel Andrade's wild night started around 11:50 p.m. on Tuesday, August 3, with a beer run at a convenience store in El Paso, Texas. Andrade, 23, then allegedly stole a Krispy Kreme delivery truck that was parked outside of store, the El Paso Times reported.
Just after midnight authorities received its first report of a possibly drunk driver in a Krispy Kreme truck hitting a vehicle.
At 1:20 a.m., cops received another call about the driver of the doughnut truck robbing a 7-Eleven convenience store and fleeing the scene.
At 1:40 a.m., cops found the truck on Interstate 10 and attempted to pull the driver over. Instead of stopping, the driver took off into a residential neighborhood where he allegedly drove into a home, hit several cars, and even hit a pedestrian.
At 3:20 a.m. cops eventually caught up with the doughnut truck and were able to disable it. They arrested a "combative" Andrade, who was charged with suspicion of evading arrest or detention in a motor vehicle, accident involving damage to a vehicle, duty on striking fixture, accident involving injury, and resisting arrest.
