Emotional Video: Milwaukee Waitress Given Large Tip From 'Venmo Challenge'

An emotional video posted on TikTok shows how a random act of kindness can really change someone's day.

A video posted by the TikTok account Humankind shows a woman sitting at a table inside of Steny's Tavern in Milwaukee. Her waitress walks up to grab the check and she asks the waitress, "Hold on, have you ever heard of the Venmo challenge?"

The waitress says no and the woman begins to explain the challenge by saying, "Basically on social media, I ask my followers on TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, to give 25 or 50 cents to this account so that way we can give it to a server. So, I want to give it to you." The waitress nervously says okay and the woman asks her to put her hand out and begins to count cash into her hand.

Starting off, the woman counts, "10, 20, 40, 60, 80, 100," and then it escalates into the hundreds. "460, 560, 660, 760 dollars for you!"

The waitress becomes emotional and goes on to say, "I am getting surgery on Monday and I didn't know how I was going to pay for it and this literally just covers it." The two women embraced in an emotional hug before the video ended.
