The Little League World Series is back this year after getting canceled in 2020, and a team from Middle Tennessee has advanced to the big stage.

The team from Nolensville secured their spot after defeating the team from Midland, Georgia, at the Southeast Regional tournament on Tuesday (August 10), WKRN reports. Nolensville came out on top with a 4-2 during the game in Warner Robins, Georgia.

Nolensville is set to appear in the regional championship final Wednesday against a team from Martin County, Florida, but the top two teams from each region will advance to the Little League World Series later this month in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The results of the regional final game will determine the seed for each team.

One standout on the team is pitcher Nolan Brown, the son of Vanderbilt's pitching coach Scott Brown. According to the news outlet, he pitched all six innings during the game against Georgia, only allowing four hits and two runs.

The last time a Tennessee team competed in the Little League World Series was back in 2016 when Goodlettsville made its second appearance after first playing in 2012. Nolensville's game will mark the fifth time in nine years that a team from the mid-state made it to the Little League World Series.

The Little League World Series begins August 19, with the championship game on August 29.
