Adorable San Diego Dog Has Over 10,000 Instagram Followers

A Pacific Beach dog is gaining a massive and devoted following online. Bruce (@san_diego_bruce) has a whopping 10,000 followers on Instagram.

His owner, Laura Siciliano told CBS8 Bruce was just 8 weeks old when she got him and she immediately started taking photos. This weekend, on August 14, he'll turn one year old.

"He's just the friendliest dog you'll ever meet," Siciliano told CBS8.

She started his Instagram page simply as a way to archive his puppy progress. But it wasn't long before random dog lovers started noticing her page. Soon after starting the account, Bruce had gone viral.

“When a video goes very viral, like some of them have over one million views, you'll be getting 500 followers a day… so it definitely is like a snowball effect," she said.

Laura is still trying to get a hand on the finicky nature of social media. For example, she says she hasn't figured out why some posts gain more attention than others.

However, she has learned that videos are a better way to engage new followers than pictures.

“I think that the video content is incredibly important at this point - so that means reels - which are similar to what TikTok has come out with,” Laura said. “Posting that can go viral more easily.”
