This Is Where To Get The Best Fried Chicken In Pennsylvania

A local Philadelphia favorite has been named as the best fried chicken spot in Pennsylvania.

Bud & Marilyn's was included among Mashed's list of the best fried chicken in every state, which was published earlier this year.

Bud & Marylin's, located on the corner of 13th & Locust in Philadelphia, is named in honor of Chef Marcie Blaine Turney's grandparents, who owned a restaurant called The Spot in Ripon, Wisconsin.

Turney grew up in her grandparents restaurant and, after more than 20 years in the food service industry, opened her own establishment with an emphasis on "great food + drink with genuine hospitality," according to Bud & Marilyn's official website.

"Chef Marcie Turney and co-founder Valerie Safran have a great restaurant going in Philadelphia called Bud & Marilyn's," Mashed's Kori Ellis writes. "This place has great fried chicken, the best in all of Pennsylvania. The Nashville Hot Fried Chicken has half a chicken, potato bread, scallion ranch, pickles, and a hot dip. It's outstanding and will leave you craving for more. If your taste buds can't handle the spice, you also can't go wrong with Marilyn's Fried Chicken that's served with honey butter, dill pickles, and a biscuit."
