Everyone has their favorite local bar or brewery where they sit, relax and toss some beers back with friends, but it never hurts to expand your horizons and try new spots in your area.

If you're looking for the best beer spot near you, Eat This, Not That! released a list of the best places to grab a cold ale in every state.

Here is what the report had to say about why it's better to head to a brewery than crack open a six-pack at home:

"Craft breweries have risen in popularity over the past few decades, which means that many have seriously stepped up their game in order to stand out. From tried-and-true classic IPAs and ales to seasonal brews to unique offerings created by brewmasters, a visit to a brewery has become such a popular experience that many offer tours and tastings to help visitors navigate their expansive beer selections."

To find the best beer spot in town, Eat This, Not That! used reviews and feedback from locals and tourists and looked at "some award-winning beers and breweries" to determine each state's best place to grab a beer.

So, where in Minnesota can you find the best beer spot?

Bent Paddle Brewing in Duluth.

Here is what Eat This, Not That! had to say about the brewery:

"Bent Paddle Brewing makes all of its beer using water from Lake Superior. Customers love the Coffee Nitro Stout, Amber Ale, and 45 Degree Ale. But you really can't go wrong. 'I have never had a Bent Paddle beer I didn't like,' wrote one reviewer. 'Top notch beer made by top-notch people.' The tour was also recommended by many reviewers."
