A New Costco Is Coming To This Denver Area

A new Costco location is coming to Northeast Denver.

According to CBS4, the neighborhood development is planned on has been determined as a food desert in the past.

Medical News Today says "Food deserts are regions where people have limited access to healthful and affordable food. This may be due to having a low income or having to travel farther to find healthful food options."

The new Costco will be part of the Flyway Development located at the intersection of Memphis and Green Valley Ranch Boulevard.

The fact that this area is categorized as a food desert is the main reason the Denver City Council approved the 32-acre retail space, reports CBS4.

In addition to Costco, the development is expected to open up several other retailers and restaurants in the future.

Currently, the closest Costco location in this area is in Aurora.

According to CBS4, the Costco in Northeast Denver is expected to open in Fall 2022.
