Utah has a crazy forecast this week, complete with floods, storms, wildfires, and now... snow? Deseret News reported that Utah's weekly forecast is expected to be a crazy one.
Utah has been receiving flooding along the Wasatch Mountains in Salt Lake County. According to the National Weather Service in Salt Lake City, the state has been issued a Flash Flood Watch. The NWS notes that the burn scars in central Utah are at the highest risk for flash flooding.
There have also been wildfires across the state, like the Parleys Canyon Fire. The fire has burned over 541 acres and it's currently around 40 percent contained. A large portion of the fire was soaked by a recent rain storm, however. This allowed for many of the evacuation orders in the area to be lifted. According to fire crews, soaked the fire for about a hour.
Now, meteorologists are calling for the possibility of snow in some areas. Grant Weyman, meteorologist with KSL Weather, says theres a chance for snow in areas of extremely high elevation. Weyman said on Tuesday morning, "We could even see some snow in the very high elevations Thursday."
When we mentioned a pattern change, we really meant it! Here is the precipitation forecast through next Monday morning. That's a good bit of rain for Utah!
