One Arizona woman survived nearly six days alone in the wilderness before being rescued, reported 12 News. 24-year-old Destiny Quintero was found in a rescue search after surviving monsoon rains and dangerous wild animals.

Qunitero said, "I was shocked and so happy to see someone finally after six days of being alone. It was so hard."

According to Quintero, she went on a joy ride with some friends last week. When the storms came down, their truck got stuck and the group got split up.

Quintero said, "They made it back before me and I was stuck out there alone. It was hard being alone. I was getting tired and hungry and I didn't know how to shelter myself."

She said she came across mountain lions out there in the wild. She hid in the water to keep safe during the day, but she couldn't do that at night. She said, "I would go behind these juniper treed surrounded by sticks and stay up alert... I wanted to give up so bad because I thought no one was looking."

On the fifth day, Willie Zahgotah decided to take off work and search further ahead. That's when he found her off a dirt road.

Quintero was able to be reunited with her family, including her two-year-old son.

Quintero said, "I thank my whole community for going out and looking for me."
