New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick showed a different side of himself during a virtual media session on Monday (August 23).
The normally stoic six-time Super Bowl champion joked after hearing CLNS reporter Evan Lazar's dog, Atlas, barking in the background while a question was being asked about recently acquired defensive end Henry Anderson.
Atlas then jumped on his owner and made his way into the shot, catching the eye of the legendary head coach.
“Well, Henry’s a smart player, has a lot of experience … and uhh, looks like you got your buddy there,” Belichick said with a smile. “Can we have him ask the next question? And then we could get Nike to answer it.”

Of course, Nike is Belichick's own dog who was famously shown manning the Patriots' draft from the coach's Nantucket home during the first-round of the virtual 2020 NFL Draft.

After the conclusion of this year's draft, the Patriots shared a video of Belichick sitting at the head of the draft war room table next to Nike, which shows him ask the dog, "what do you think here in the seventh-round, huh?," Belichick asks as he pets the dog's head. "Alright, got it."
The Patriots captioned the Twitter video with "Another #PatsDraft in the books for this good boy."
