The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum will debut its sold-out conversation and performance with iconic country artist Martina McBride.
The program, part of the museum’s “Live at the Hall” digital series, is set to premiere next Tuesday (August 31). It supports the opening of the museum’s new exhibit, “Martina McBride: The Power of Her Voice,” which officially opened on July 31 and runs through August 7, 2022. The award-winning country artist hailed her new exhibit “a dream come true” at an opening celebration last month.
During her conversation in the CMA Theater with the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, McBride reflected on her iconic career. Her love for music began as a child, when she performed in her family band, the Schiffters. She also discussed her decision to move to Nashville to pursue her career in country music, and how significant her hit 1993 song “Independence Day” is, according to the Hall of Fame and Museum.
Among other items in the “Martina McBride: The Power of Her Voice” exhibit, fans can see McBride’s Sharon High School yearbook from 1984, the wedding dress and veil she wore when she married John McBride in 1988, Dolly Parton’s congratulatory note to McBride on winning the CMA Female Vocalist of the Year award in 2003, and so much more.
“This is surreal and overwhelming. It is a dream come true. I am beyond thrilled and honored to have my own exhibit in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, you guys!” McBride exclaimed at the exhibit opening in July. “I’ve been very fortunate, and lucky, and blessed that I was able to surround myself with such great people.”
Stream McBride’s conversation and performance on the museum’s YouTube channel, Facebook page and website on August 31.
