Police in Carrollton, Texas, are looking for a failed thief who may have injured himself at the crime scene.

The police department shared a video on Tuesday, August 24, taken from a business that was broken into over the weekend.

Authorities offered very few specifics about the crime, but in the video, you can see the would-be thief prowling around some office chairs. His prize is the flat-screen TV on the wall.

The thief detaches the TV with some maneuvering and pulling, but gravity stops him before he can get away. The large TV smacks him in the face and topples him over.

Ashamed, he picks himself off the floor and walks out the door without the TV.

"We are attempting to locate the burglary suspect seen in this video. Sure, we want to talk to him about breaking into a business in the 1600 block of W. Crosby on Sunday...but first, we just want to make sure he's ok," the department wrote on Twitter.

Even if he walked away without any bruises, that thief must have injured his pride.

Most social media followers think he got was he deserved.

"Instant karma," wrote one woman on Twitter.

On Facebook, one person suggested that maybe he left behind some clues. "Looks like he left a nice faceprint on the TV . . ."
