Long before Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello got together, the pair put out a popular duet together when they were teenagers. Working on the track, titled 'I Know What You Did Last Summer,' led Cabello to have a major crush on Mendes at the time.

During a recent appearance on The Late Late Show, Cabello and host James Corden reminisced about the time she and Mendes came on the show to promote their first collaboration. Corden reminded the 'Don't Go Yet' singer about how he questioned the now-couple about their feelings for each other. As Cabello remembers it, the interview became a major point of tension between her and Mendes.

"I remember he said 'I like her, she doesn't like me,' or something like that," Cabello said, recounting how Mendes tried to dodge Corden's questions about a potential romance. "At the time, I was completely in love with him and I thought he was the one who wasn't in love with me back. I was sat here and I remember being like 'what the...."

After the interview, Cabello confronted Mendes about his answer. "I was like 'why did you say that? Cause you know that I like you!'" Cabello recalled, hilariously impersonating her teenage self. "It was so stupid. We were sixteen. Look at us now."

Later on in the interview, Cabello opened up about spending more time with Mendes amid the pandemic. The 'Havana' songstress even revealed she learned her boyfriend of two years talks in his sleep.

"It happened a lot during the pandemic because we were going to sleep together every night," she shared. "I stay up a little longer than he does; I'll be on my iPad or reading or whatever. He's just, like, one of those people who as soon as he gets into bed and five minutes later [he falls asleep], like, mid-sentence he'll be like, 'And I—.'"

"I would be reading or something and he would just start sleep-talking and it would scare the s**t out of me," she continued. "He'd just be like: 'Baby that feels so good!' and then he'd go back to sleep. That is the first thing he ever said when he slept-talked, by the way. I don't know. I was like, 'Thank you? I'm not really doing anything right now.'"

"Can you imagine the terror of that?" Cabello asked, describing how Mendes opens his eyes while he sleep talks. "I would just be so scared. It's terrifying."

Since first working together on 'I Know What You Did Last Summer,' Cabello and Mendes have gone on to release 'Senorita' off Cabello's album Romance and a cover of 'The Christmas Song.'
