A Washington man was caught on camera jumping on top of a car and generally "causing chaos" inside the State Route 99 tunnel, according to KOMO.

Police say officers arrested 21-year-old Jonathan Campbell on Wednesday (September 1) after he allegedly wreaked havoc during rush hour traffic. A driver named Jeff Harris recorded the moment Campbell clung to a vehicle and before rolling off onto the side of the road.

“It went from, ‘woah, to omg this guy is going to get seriously injured,’” said Harris. “I hope it never happens to me because it would be super scary.” He also claimed Campbell tried to get on two other cars before his success was captured on video. You can watch it here.

Authorities say Campbell was having a crisis, calling 911 through emergency tunnel phones and "mumbling incoherent words." There were times where he was allegedly walking through traffic, too.

Crisis-trained officers were called out to the scene, and the tunnel was shut down for half an hour to deal with the mayhem.

“It makes sense to shut it down and get it under control before he got hit by a car or something else happened,” Kodie Kreimann told KOMO, who recorded Campbell's arrest.

Police records claim the man slapped an officer's hands and even told another cop to "to just shoot' another officer trying to detain him.

Campbell is scheduled to appear for a competency hearing next Thursday (September 16). He faces misdemeanor charges of reckless endangerment and obstructing a public officer.

The Washington Department of Transportation reminded the public that pedestrians are not allowed inside the tunnel.
