A Federal Way woman looking to help a car crash victim wasn't prepared to be the victim of a crime in Seattle.

The incident happened on September 8 on Beacon Avenue South near Jefferson Park, Q13 FOX reported on Tuesday (September 14). Christina Langley recalls driving to Seattle for work when she spotted the crash.

"My first thought was, like, ‘Okay, get on the call with 911, get out and check to make sure, you know, people are still breathing,'" she recounts the incident to reporters. The aspiring veterinarian says a woman involved in the crash ran past her, screaming.

Langley, instead of consoling the woman, decided to make her way to another victim pinned in his car. That's when she noticed someone stealing her car -- the woman who ran past her.

"And so as I turned back around and looked down, she was driving through the intersection," Langley claims. "My car was totaled earlier this year, in April. And that’s my new car, and I cannot financially afford to do any of this again. And it kind of hurts that I was trying to do something good and now it's taken from me."

Authorities recommend Good Samaritans wanting to help victims to turn off their car and set the emergency brake. If it happens to be on a busy road like a freeway, it's best to call 911.

Langley set up a GoFundMe to raise money for her car. She says she will donate the funds if she gets her car back.

As for the stolen car, you can call Crime Stopper of Puget Sound at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) if you have any information about the suspect. You can get a cash reward up to $1,000 if your tip leads to an arrest.
