A Dallas murder suspect was finally caught after jumping out of a speeding car in the San Antonio metro area.

The incident started when cops in Castle Hills attempted to pull over a car at 2 a.m. on Saturday, September 18. As soon as the cops flashed their lights, the driver speed off through several red lights and stop signs, KSAT reported.

The car chase only lasted for 10 minutes because the female passenger threw herself from the moving car.

Police called off the chase and apprehended the woman from the car. She was taken to the hospital before being booked in the Bexar County jail.

The woman allegedly lied to investigators several times before giving them her real name, which is Laysha Garcia.

Garcia was one of five people arrested in May 2020 in connection to a Dallas shooting that killed 17-year-old Jason Baez and 21-year-old Cristian Marmolejo, NBC DFW reported.

Authorities have not yet found the driver of the car Garcia was in on Saturday because the license plate on the vehicle was fake.
