A Seattle bass player was back on stage Sunday (September 26) following a harrowing experience earlier this month. Now the band member is thanking a rock and roll legend for his return, KING 5 says.

Greyhawk's Darin Wall was left injured after he stopped an armed man from entering a venue in Boise, Idaho. Wall pushed the shooter, identified as 26-year-old Ethan Byrd, but the suspect shot the bass player in the leg. Byrd was later arrested.

Wall has spent the last few weeks recovering from the incident, the bullet still in his leg. Come Sunday, Wall was able to play with his band during a sold-out show at El Corazon -- but he had a little extra help.

The heavy metal player got to sit in a legendary throne owned by Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters!

Thanks to Kalie Greenberg and King 5 news for stopping by the Unleash The Archers show last night to report on our first...

"There are three people who have used it," Wall explained to reporters. "There's Dave Grohl, Axl Rose in Guns and Roses, and me." Grohl sat down on the throne during a show in 2015 after he broke his leg.

The bass player said he hoped to use the throne during a radio program. When the comment made it to social media, that's when it caught the attention of Foo Fighters' management.

"He called me from the MTV VMA awards and [Grohl] said I'll ship that throne up to you at my expense," Wall recounts. The band member made history as he rocked out in the infamous seat. Rev Taylor, Greyhawk's lead singer, says it's an honor for Wall.

"What he did in Boise was absolutely in character and absolutely an extension of how he lives his life day-to-day," Taylor says.
