Mysterious Salmonella Outbreak Continuing To Spread Across Utah

A mysterious ongoing outbreak of salmonella has been ravaging 29 states across the US, including Utah. Deseret News reported that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention it’s still unsure as to what started the outbreak.
The CDC said, “A specific food item has not yet been identified as the source of this fast growing outbreak.”
According to the CDC, at least 279 people have fallen ill so far due to the salmonella strain. This certain strain is called oranienburg. 26 of those people infected have been hospitalized as a result of the mysterious outbreak.
The 29 states that have been infected with the salmonella outbreak include:

- California
- Florida
- Indiana
- Illinois
- Iowa
- Kansas
- Maryland
- Massachusetts
- Michigan
- Minnesota
- Missouri
- Nebraska
- New Mexico
- New York
- New Jersey
- North Carolina
- North Dakota
- Oklahoma
- Oregon
- Pennsylvania
- South Carolina
- South Dakota
- Tennessee
- Utah
- Virginia
- Wisconsin
The investigation into the salmonella outbreak has been going on for about a month now. Anyone who has possibly been made sick by the outbreak has been identified. The CDC will continue to investigate the situation to determine what began the outbreak.
