Nearly a dozen people on a fishing trip weren't prepared for the disaster that happened to them Saturday night (October 2) in Seattle.

KOMO says 11 people were saved from a capsizing boat in Elliot Bay, just off Alaskan Way downtown. A group was squid fishing near the Colman Dock ferry terminal when their boat lost its engine around 10:30 p.m., according to Seattle Fire.

The vessel ended up drifting toward the ferry dock, and a large wave reportedly attacked the boat. Everyone on board was thrown into the water, but ferry crews and Seattle Fire rescued the individuals, officials say.

"The 11 people were taken to a nearby fire station to get warm up with tea and blankets while they waited for family to pick them up," according to reporters. "Colman Dock was shut down for a time but it's now back to full operation."

Earlier this year, a big fishery boat broke out into flames at the Port of Tacoma. In Oregon, 13 people ended up getting stranded after their boat got stuck in mud.
