Joe Exotic's resentencing date has been set for January 28 by a federal judge in Oklahoma on Monday.

The Tiger King, whose real name is Joseph Maldonado-Passage, will be transported to Oklahoma City from North Carolina for the 10 a.m. sentencing set by U.S. District Judge Scott Palk, according to KAKE.

The resentencing comes after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit in Denver, Colorado, ruled in July that Maldonado-Passage should get a short sentence. The court said Maldonado-Passage "wrongly treated two murder-for-hire convictions separately in calculating his prison term," KAKE reported. His sentence was originally set for 22 years, but the advisory sentencing range should have been set to 17.5 to 22 years instead of the 22 to 27 year range, the appeals court said.

Maldonado-Passage is in Butner, North Carolina, at a federal medical center after being transferred from Fort Worth, Texas, when he announced in November he has an "aggressive" prostate cancer. Maldonado-Passage said he was delaying cancer treatment until after his resentencing, according to The Associated Press.

“Postponing radiation treatment until after resentencing would not be detrimental to his health as it is unlikely to affect his prognosis or outcome,” according the motion filed in federal court.
