Green Gaiter Bandit Finally Caught After Robbing 12 California Banks

Authorities arrested a man accused of robbing multiple banks in Southern California. According to FOX5, 55-year-old Christopher Paul Daniels of Torrance is at the center of a massive bank robbery investigation by the FBI and other law enforcement agencies.

He was arrested in Palos Verdes Estates on Sunday, February 27. The FBI believes Daniels is linked to at least 12 of 19 robberies or attempted robberies in the Orange and Los Angeles counties since October 2021.

In these cases, the bank robber wore a green camouflage gaiter covering part of his, which earned him the name "Green Gaiter Bandit" by law enforcement. Daniels was arrested in a white Toyota Yaris, which was the same make of the vehicle spotted at several of the robberies he's accused of committing.

On Monday, February 28, he appeared in federal court after he was charged with robbing or attempting to rob four banks: U.S. Bank in Mission Viejo on January 7, Wells Fargo Bank in Placentia on January 21, Chase Bank in Fullerton on January 21, and Bank of the West in Fullerton on January 27.

According to FOX5, authorities are also investigating February bank robberies which they believe may have been committed by Daniels. He is currently in federal custody after being denied bond.
