Two weeks after suffering a tragedy in his life, Young Thug and his family can breathe a sigh of relief after police provide a major update on the murder of his son's mother LaKevia Jackson.
According to a report TMZ published on Friday, April 1, the Atlanta Police Department apprehended Joshua Fleetwood on Thursday. The suspect, who cops believe to be the man who shot and killed Jackson two weeks ago, is facing several charges including felony murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Fleetwood is currently being held at the Fulton County Jail.
On March 17, Jackson was attending a birthday party at a bowling alley for her best friend when she got into an argument with a man over a bowling ball. The man reportedly waited for Jackson to go outside to her car and shot her in the parking lot. Jackson was pronounced dead on the scene.
“This is truly an atrocity," said Atlanta Police Department Homicide Commander Lt. Ralph Woolfolk about Jackson's death. "A young lady has lost her life over a bowling ball. We talk about conflict-resolution time and time again and this is an escalated dispute, so we will work this case through the night and we will find the person responsible. We know who are so go ahead and turn yourself in.”
Jackson is the mother of Thug's 14-year-old son Kyvion. Thugger was reportedly performing at SXSW in Austin, Texas when he got the news about Jackson's death. So far, the "Recognize Real" rapper has not publicly commented on the tragedy.
