Sam Hunt Reveals He & His Wife Welcomed Their Baby 'A Couple Of Weeks Ago'

Sam Hunt is officially a dad… The “23” singer revealed during a performance at the historic Ryman Auditorium on Tuesday (June 7) that he and his wife welcomed their daughter “a couple of weeks ago.”

Hunt was headlining the Stars for Second Harvest show, benefitting Second Harvest Food Bank, when he surprised the crowd with the news. Hunt revealed that he and his wife, Hannah Lee Fowler, named their daughter Lucy Lu, news outlets reported on Tuesday. Outlets shared a video on Instagram that was captured by a photographer at the event. The crowd applauded and cheered at the surprising news, and Hunt continued, saying:

“I think being out here in the music business and being out on the road has sort of hardened my heart…But it’s amazing how that little girl melted that all away overnight a couple weeks ago. I’ve been filled with a lot of gratitude these past couple of weeks and I just want to say up here on the Ryman stage how grateful I am to have been a part of country music for the past 10 years.”

His daughter’s birth comes shortly after Hunt and Fowler opted to reconcile after filing for divorce twice this year. Fowler reportedly asked the court to dismiss a divorce case in which she claimed infidelity. She withdrew her original complaint hours after filing it, and filed a second time, reportedly because she originally filed documents in the wrong Tennessee county. TMZ noted last month that Hunt had been seen wearing his wedding ring again after he and Fowler, whom he married in 2017, decided to call off the divorce. Lucy is the couple’s first child.
