Justin Bieber is working through a health scare. The singer shared last week he's been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, leaving his face partially paralyzed. The "Ghost" singer has since shared with fans a health update and Ryan Seacrest connected with infectious disease expert Dr. Peter Chin-Hong to better understand how the Biebs will be recovering.

Dr. Chin-Hong explained Ramsay Hunt syndrome is "essentially what people might know as a variant of shingles" and that there are two medicines patients can take to treat it early on.

"It's treatable," Dr. Chin-Hong confirmed. "... My gut sense is he will get better, but it's kind of a waiting game and I think a little bit scary because he’s needing all these senses for his career."

Bieber previously shared the disease has affected his mouth and ears. Watch back the full interview with Seacrest to learn more.
