If you're a self-described foodie, you likely enjoy searching out and trying new restaurants to sample the best of what a city has to offer. And you're not alone!

Eat This, Not That! searched around the country to find the best destinations for foodies in each state, from Texas barbecue joints with rich smoky flavors to fresh seafood restaurants in the Pacific Northwest.

So what is South Carolina's top foodie destination?

Nigel's Good Food

This North Charleston favorite promises to be "just what your soul needs" with its menu of incredible soul food dishes, from tasty meat-and-threes, fried pork chops and country fried steak to seafood salad and its "often imitated but never duplicated" Geechie Chicken wings. Nigel's is a must-try for any adventurous foodie in South Carolina.

Nigel's Good Food is located at 3760 Ashley Phosphate Road in North Charleston.

Here's what Eat This, Not That! had to say:

"If you're a fan of southern soul food, gulla food is a close relative that you absolutely have to try, and there's no better place in Charleston. Nigel's is a local staple, serving up all of your comfort food favorites. Reviewers highly recommend the fried chicken, as well as any of the side dishes, especially the mac and cheese and collard greens. Though the setting is humble, the food is definitely worth waiting for."
