The Jamba location in Fort Worth's Sundance Square Plaza has closed its doors after 20 years. Now, its anchor building is looking for a new tenant — but that might prove difficult since the building is known for generations of ghost encounters.
The 40-year-old retail development in downtown Fort Worth is in the midst of a remodel to "emphasize unique and local restaurants and shops," according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. The plaza is now looking for a local operator to take over the Jett Building storefront at 400 Main Street.
This location is known for the "Chisholm Trail" mural, which depicts cattle that passed through what is now downtown in the 1870s. Not only is the building famous for its mural, but its also known for its ghost stories. Since the 1990s, "haunted" tours and stories have taken over this area after employees of nearby businesses, including Razzoo's and Mi Cocina, reported "shadowy figures in a mirror and wine glasses falling. Some also said they heard balls rolling across wooden floors as music played," the news outlet reported. At least six tenants have reported ghosts.
Three more Jamba locations remain in Fort Worth after the shuttering of the Sundance location.
