Texas Woman Gives Birth On The Side Of The Road With Help Of Nearby Cop

A Fort Worth police officer was in the right place at the right time.

Officer R. Salazar was in the middle of a meeting at the Northwest Police Station on Main Street when he "heard a female screaming nearby." When he went to investigate, he found a black vehicle with the doors open and a woman inside in active labor, the police department shared on social media. It was go time for Salazar, who helped deliver the baby while waiting for the Fort Worth Fire Department and Medstar to show up.

It's a boy, the police department said.

After Salazar helped the woman give birth, she was transported to a local hospital for routine treatment.
