Ashley McBryde knows a country song when she hears one.
The Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville star recently proved that she can write a catchy song on the fly, with inspiration from someone else’s story. McBryde recently appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show, and host Jennifer Hudson prompts the Grammy Award winner to perform something on the spot.
Hudson said that since McBryde is such a strong storyteller, “I wanna give you a few stories,” to see if she could come up with a song. McBryde expertly took her guitar and listened as an audience member shared: “I had a coworker that just knew that they had the perfect person for me. So, they set me up on a blind date, only for me to get to the restaurant and it was my cousin.”
“It’s already a country song,” McBryde said as audience members gasped and laughed about the story. McBryde strummed her guitar and performed a stunning ballad about the experience. Sharing the interview clip on Instagram, Hudson captioned: “Only [Ashley McBryde] can make accidentally dating your cousin sound so beautiful 🤩” Watch it here:
McBryde’s latest song to release is “Light On In The Kitchen,” a heartfelt song about the wise words of advice she’s received from her mom and other empowering women throughout her life. She wrote the track with Connie Harrington and Jessi Alexander, and now, she’s “so ready to share it with you. It's time.”
