Reba McEntire To Debut Lifestyle Book With Foreword By Garth Brooks

Reba McEntire unveiled plans to release a new lifestyle book packed with delicious recipes and heartfelt stories, and the country music queen will debut a companion album to go with it. McEntire’s Not That Fancy is due in October.

The book, which includes a foreword by Garth Brooks, is titled Not That Fancy: Simple Lessons on Living, Loving, Eating, and Dusting Off Your Boots. McEntire said during an interview on the TODAY show as she announced the book on Monday morning (April 17) that it’s a “fun book” focusing on recipes, stories, faith, family and friends (with some never-before-seen photos). On the show, McEntire and Carson Daly toasted the end of the “Reba: Live In Concert Tour” with a drink recipe from Not That Fancy. McEntire’s tour came to an end with a vibrant performance at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Saturday night (April 15).

Some of the recipes, McEntire said, will be from the restaurant she opened in her home state earlier this year. Reba’s Place, also a live music venue, hosted its grand opening in January in Atoka, Oklahoma. McEntire said in a press conference at that time that it’s “been a dream come true” to make it happen. “Music and the fans helped build this place and get it all together. And that's what a restaurant is all about, where people cam come in, visit, and eat.”

Not That Fancy is set to include humorous stories, more than 50 recipes (desserts, meats, sides and cocktails) from the country superstar’s family traditions, lifestyle tips and many other highlights, per McEntire’s publisher. The book will be available on October 10.

“To me there's nothing better than sitting out on the porch of Southeastern Oklahoma looking out at the deep red dirt that goes on for miles,” McEntire’s overview reads. “A beautiful sunset, and then me, just sipping on a glass of iced tea (or whiskey) with loved ones, and seeing who can get who to crack up first. I don't know what heaven's going to look like, but if I get any say in the matter, I'd tell the Big Boy Upstairs that's all I want. Just me, people I love, and those acres of red dirt. Throw in some beans and cornbread, and I'm all set. …if you're looking to slow down, get back to basics, and have a heckuva lot of fun, then my friend, I think we're going to have a good time together. So come on in, kick off your boots (or leave them on, I don't care), and learn how to bring a little bit of my ranch-inspired life into your own.”
