Tyler Hubbard is sharing a glimpse into his life as a songwriter with the release of his “Dancin’ In The Country” demo, featuring fellow country giant Keith Urban. Hubbard and Urban teamed up to write the upbeat anthem with Jon Nite and Ross Copperman, serving as one of the highlights on Hubbard’s debut solo project that dropped earlier this year. Now, the superstar singer-songwriter is offering fans a different version on the fan-favorite track by releasing the demo, featuring Urban.

It was the first time Hubbard and Urban teamed up to write music together, Hubbard reflected as he shared a selfie from the studio. He remembered that “from start to finish the whole process was a blast. I wanted to do something a little different for this song and thought I’d let y’all experience the original demo we recorded the day we wrote it. You can hear Keith on vocals and he played everything from the bass to the ganjo on this track — the way only Keith can.”

“’Dancin’ In The Country’ has been a super fun song since Day 1, since the day we wrote it,” Hubbard said when the new version released on Friday (April 21). “I got to write this song with Keith Urban, my buddy Jon Nite and Ross Copperman …Everybody kind of brought their strengths to the table.

“I wanted to release this demo that actually turned out really cool,” Hubbard said later. “I’ve always loved this demo. Props to Keith, props to Ross and Jon for an awesome day. I’m glad I get to release this demo and put it out into the world. ...I hope it lets you guys kind of into our world as songwriters. Turn it up. Enjoy it.”

Urban shared a clip from the studio, reflecting on writing the song in October 2021. After the collaboration, Hubbard joined Urban on his headlining tour and released “Dancin’ In The Country” on a 6-track collection ahead of his full-length album, making it one of the first songs fans would hear from his solo debut. Hubbard previously said that it was “inspired by these nightly dance parties we’ve been having in my house after dinner. Me and the three kids and my wife we go in the playroom, turn the party lights on just about every night and have a dance party. So, this is one of those songs that always worked in the dance parties and feels like something that’ll be really fun to take on tour and play live and hopefully get the crowd moving the way the kids do during the dance parties.”
