Kimberly Perry said she “decided the story wasn’t finished,” after she and her brothers released the smash-hit ballad “If I Die Young” more than a decade ago.

Perry is getting ready to release her first-ever solo EP after taking a break from The Band Perry, along with brothers Reid Perry and Neil Perry. The trio announced in late March that stye would “take a creative break as a group and each focus on our individual creative pursuits. The first song from the project, “If I Die Young Pt. 2,” will make its debut on Friday (May 5). She played an acoustic snippet of the song and shared the sneak peek on Instagram over the weekend. Perry said she was “deliriously happy” when she announced on Monday (May 1) that her debut EP, Bloom, will be available on June 9. See the track list here:

  1. “If I Die Young Pt. 2”
  2. “Burn The House Down”
  3. “Cry At Your Funeral”
  4. “Ghosts”
  5. “Smoke ‘Em Too”

That announcement comes shortly after Perry announced that she and her husband are expecting their first child this year. The “Better Dig Two” alum said that the parents-to-be are “absolutely beside ourselves with happiness,” she said at the time.
