Morgan Wallen shared a health update and promised to reschedule a previously-canceled performance in Oxford, Mississippi. The “Last Night” singer said in a video on his Instagram story on Thursday afternoon (May 4):
“What’s up, everybody? I just wanna let you know that I am in Jacksonville, [Florida]. We are gonna play a show tonight, and all weekend. I wouldn’t say I’m 100%, but I’m doing a lot better. And to everyone in Oxford, I just wanted to reiterate how sorry I am for the way that went down. I thought I was gonna be good to go, and I just wasn’t. So, we’re working on a rescheduled date. We are close to having a rescheduled date. I just don’t have the exact one yet. So, as soon as I do, I’ll let you know. I appreciate y’all. Can’t wait to get back out on stage tonight. Love y’all. Thank you for all the support, always. God bless you. See you soon.”
Wallen’s update comes shortly after he issued an apology for canceling his concert at Vaught Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Mississippi, minutes before he was set to take the stage. He said at the time that he started losing his voice after his show the night before, “so I spent the day resting up, talking to my doctor and working through my vocal exercises trying to get better. I really thought I’d be able to take the stage and it kills me to deliver this so close to showtime, but my voice is shot and I am unable to sing. All tickets will be refunded at point of purchase. I am so sorry, I promise you guys I tried everything I could.”
The next day, Wallen announced that he would have to reschedule a few more performances as he took a “doctor-ordered vocal rest.” Wallen is currently on his “One Night At A Time World Tour,” following the release of his 36-track album in March.
