Spotted: Upper East Siders returning to where they belong — a world where fashion reigns, power prevails and the whispers of Gossip Girl echo through the hallowed halls of Manhattan's elite.

The Upper East Side is buzzing with news of a potential return of our beloved Gossip Girl and it's reached a fever pitch, thanks to a cryptic post shared by the show's official Instagram account. The salacious question on everyone's lips: Is Gossip Girl about to make (another) comeback?

A mysterious Instagram post from @gossipgirl has fans wondering if the iconic show, which first premiered in 2007, is planning to dust off its designer threads and delve into the enticing world of the Upper East Side once again.

"Welcome back, Upper East Siders. After a long time away, I see it didn’t take much time for you to dirty up the clean slates I gave you," the caption said alongside a photo of the original cast, featuring Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively), Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester), Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick), Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley), Jenny Humphrey (Taylor Momsen) and Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford).

Fans on social media are buzzing with excitement (and confusion), to say the least.

"WHAT DOES THIS MEAN," one fan wrote.

"DO NOT TEASE ME LIKE THISSSS," said another.

"GIRL WHAT," another user wrote.

Even popular celebrity gossip account deuxmoi was in on the action, commenting a resounding "WHAT."

As we all know, the groundbreaking TV show finished after six seasons in December 2012. It was turned into a spinoff on HBO Max in 2021, which followed the next generation of Manhattan's elite, starring Jordan Alexander, Whitney Peak and Evan Mock. The show was canceled after two seasons earlier this year.

As far as what's coming next, that's one secret I'll never tell. You know you love me. XOXO, Gossip Girl.
