Barbora Zdasnka, the 14-year-old Florida girl who was reported missing on Monday (July 31), has been located safely, the Daytona Beach Police Department said in a Tuesday afternoon (August 1) update. Police revealed that the teenager wasn't kidnapped and that no crime had been committed, per WTVT.

Authorities said Zdanska was last seen in the 100 block of Boynton Boulevard, climbing into a 2014 blue Dodge Caravan. Police believed she was in the company of a 14-year-old boy, and that the vehicle either belonged to him or one of his family members. Cops also said Zdanska sent a text message to her family indicating she may have been abducted.

Daytona Beach police later canceled the Amber Alert after they found her safe in Marion County. According to investigators, spoke with witnesses and learned the initial kidnapping report wasn't true.

"Based on statements from witnesses, our investigation determined that no crime had occurred due to the alleged accusation not being factual and also being reported by a third party and not the victim," according to a statement obtained by reporters.

Police also spoke with the owner of the Dodge Caravan, who admitted to driving to Daytona Beach to pick up Zdanska and drop her off at a house in Jacksonville. Authorities said the vehicle owner was cooperative with investigators.

Officials didn't release any more details about the case.
