Reba McEntire posted a sneak peek of a delicious recipe that readers can expect to find in her soon-to-release lifestyle book, Not That Fancy: Simple Lessons on Living, Loving, Eating, and Dusting Off Your Boots. The beloved country music legend shared the recipe to make a delicious glass of porch day lemonade.

Ingredients include one cup of water (plus water to fill the pitcher), one cup of sugar, juice from six to eight lemons, and optional fresh basil leaves for garnish. McEntire’s recipe instructs readers to place the water and sugar in a medium saucepan and set to medium-high heat before bringing it to a low simmer. Heat the lemonade for about five minutes with occasional stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Let the liquid cool in a two-quart pitcher and juice the lemons, adding more lemons for a more tart (rather than sweet) flavor. Stir the lemon juice into the pitcher to combine with the liquid, and stir once more after filling the remainder of the pitcher with cold water. Serve in a tall glass with ice and garnish with fresh basil leaves.

McEntire announced earlier this year that she would release a lifestyle book, complete with a foreword by Garth Brooks, on October 10. The book will include recipes and stories, and will make its debut alongside a companion album with some of McEntire’s most iconic hits. See the porch day lemonade recipe here:
