Brett Eldredge marked the 10-year anniversary of his debut album with a heartfelt reflection and a “from the vault” track for a special edition of Bring You Back. The original 13-track collection, released in August 2013, included some of Eldredge’s most iconic hits, including “Don’t Ya,” “Beat of the Music,” “Mean to Me” and other fan-favorites.

The Illinois-born country star remembers himself as a “bright-eyed kid” as he looks at the album cover 10 years later, and credited his younger self with having “courage and bravery to go after this wild dream.”

“At that time I don’t think I even knew what fear was and I was gonna do whatever it took,” Eldredge shared. “This album launched me on a rocket that I could have never dreamed of….that journey has brought many challenges, trips around the world, the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. I am so thankful for every part of it and I am forever grateful for all of you that made these songs a part of your life from the very start and for believing in me to grow into the artist I am today. To everyone that was a part of helping putting this album together, thank you, you are beautiful creative souls. A very exciting next chapter of the story is about to begin, but for today I will celebrate and soak this in.”

Eldredge also debuted a 14th track, “Adios Old Friend,” to celebrate the anniversary on Thursday (August 17). He explained that the bonus track was originally supposed to be on the Bring You Back album 10 years ago, but he opted to “save it for a special moment” instead. Eldredge added that “that glorious voice in the background is the incredible [Lee Ann Womack], one of my favorite singers on earth.”

“Well hello old friend!” Womack said in a tweet as Eldredge announced the song’s long-awaited debut. “Happy this song gets to be heard at last.”
