Kimberly Perry confirmed that she’s “officially at the hospital” as her firstborn child makes his way into the world.

The country star posted a series of photos on Instagram on Friday afternoon (August 25) that chronicled her growing baby bump throughout her pregnancy. Some of the stunning photos included Perry’s Grand Ole Opry debut, her stunning ACM Awards gown and more. Perry said she’s “feeling the Bloom on every level,” after releasing her debut solo EP titled Bloom earlier this summer. The 5-track EP that included “If I Die Young Pt. 2,” continuing th story after The Band Perry’s hit ballad more than 10 years ago.

“I’m sitting here just looking thru my photos and reminiscing about watching this baby bump grow, it’s the most incredible documentary of a year of music and motherhood, blossoms from dry soil, beauty from ashes,” Perry wrote in her caption. She added: “It’s been the most wonderful experience of my life sharing my story and getting new music in your hands. Part 2 on SO many levels. I feel so incredibly blessed by you all! Thank you for going on this ride with me. Let’s keep rollin…”

“I’m gonna focus on getting little man here safe and sound so we can welcome him Earth-side. Can’t wait to share all of his handsome newborn pics with you! I love you all and will see you on the other side.”

Perry announced earlier this year that she and husband Johnny Costello are expecting their first child. She wrote on Instagram at that time that she’s “OVERFLOWING WITH JOY,” and that she was eager to “welcome this little bundle of love to our world.”

Perry shared earlier this year that while she was writing “If I Die Young Pt. 2” with co-writers Nicolle Galyon and Jimmy Robbins, she’d set the “intention” that she would become a mother while writing about her own mother and a future child of her own: “When we wrote ‘Pt. 2,’ I had actually just gone through a miscarriage a few months before, which was a really sad time. So, in writing this second verse, it was like, ‘well, I would really love to set this intention that there is a baby coming.’ A healthy baby was gonna be here at some point. And it felt like it really held hands with the original version because the entire original version was sort of this romantic plea for all the things that I was hoping for. A few months after we recorded the song, I found out I was pregnant.”

The Band Perry alum shared with PEOPLE earlier this year that she and Costello instantly love the name “Whitaker” when she Googled “beautiful boy names,” and plan to call him “Whit” for short. His middle name will be James, which “comes from my grandfather, and Johnny's grandfather's middle name was James as well. So, it felt like a strong masculine name to bring forward,” Perry told PEOPLE.
