Can You Spot The Burglar In This Halloween Scene?

September 14, 2023

It's almost Halloween, a great time to dress up in costume but also a great time for thieves to strike. On October 31st, many houses will have someone home to hand out candy, but other homeowners will choose to put out a bowl of goodies with a sign asking trick or treaters to only take one. For the people who decide to rely on the honor code, it turns out that coming home to an empty bowl isn't the biggest problem - having a bowl outside is a signal to potential thieves that no one is home.

To bring attention to the need for better security on Halloween and during the rest of the year, lock and hardware maker Yale commissioned this fun illustration, which features a bunch of costumed trick or treaters. Among them is a burglar in a robber's trademark black and white striped shirt, along with a bag of loot. Can you find him?

Not surprisingly, there is a huge increase in home burglaries around Halloween so be sure that you are taking all precautions to keep your home and belongings safe!
